ICTS UK & Ireland, in partnership with TAC Healthcare Group, has signed a new strategic agreement with AGS Airports Ltd for the provision of new rapid COVID-19 testing facilities. The terminal-based facilities, introduced at Aberdeen and Glasgow Airports, offer both PCR and antigen testing for passengers currently travelling for essential purposes during lockdown. Plans are also underway to introduce testing capacity at the Group’s other airport in Southampton.
Specialist TAC Healthcare-run testing labs have been set up to provide passengers with a quick and convenient pre-flight service. The ICTS Security teams will facilitate the testing provisions at both airports whilst continuing to provide aviation security services.
The contract awarded to TAC Healthcare Group includes the provision of PCR and rapid-antigen COVID testing kits, labs and swabbing teams, including nurses and healthcare assistants. Facilities at the airport have been designed to support pre-booked appointments for passengers. Results of PCR tests are returned within 24 hours while antigen test results take just 15 minutes. PCR testing can be done either via a park-and-test method in the airport car parks or at a walk-up test facility within the terminal.
TAC Healthcare Group is one of only a handful of Scottish UKAS registered and approved private providers of COVID testing on the UK Government Register.
Phil Webb, CEO of C7 Health (Parent Company of TAC Healthcare Group), said: “We have been performing testing in Aberdeen for 12 months now, primarily within the offshore oil and gas industry, and we look forward to applying the same level of efficiency and care that TAC Healthcare Group has become synonymous with, to the aviation sector. We are proud to play our part in creating a safe and trusted environment for air travel within the AGS Group.”
Mark Johnston, Chief Operating Officer of AGS Airports Ltd, which owns Aberdeen and Glasgow Airports, said: “Although many air services have been grounded throughout the pandemic, our airports have remained open to support critical services including Highlands and Islands routes, essential oil and gas operations and vital hub connectivity for key workers.
“The introduction of these on-site testing facilities will not only provide passengers travelling for essential purposes with a quick and convenient service, they will hopefully play a crucial role in the safe resumption of wider domestic and international travel in the weeks and months ahead.”
Our Managing Director, ICTS UK & Ireland, Andy Kynoch says, “With the roadmap out of lockdown published on 22 February 2021, we look forward to the lifting of restrictions on air travel. We are delighted to be in the position to facilitate a process which will enable the return of air travel. This process will also stimulate the healing of the aviation sector, which we have been a part of for over 33 years. As a Group, we are incredibly proud of the agility with which we have been able to be at the forefront in assisting our clients in getting aviation back in the air.”

About TAC Healthcare Group
TAC Healthcare (TAC) was established in 2014 to grow the service offered by Aberdeen Surgical Ltd (AS). AS had established a professional general surgical service based on quality. TAC Healthcare maintained the ethos of high quality and professional delivery of services to the private market but expanded to include NHS contract work. In 2017 TAC established a presence on the relevant national frameworks for providing clinical services to the NHS in Scotland, Wales and Ireland and more recently the Outsourcing & GP frameworks in England. In 2019, TAC was acquired by C7 Health, a medical technology company and this has allowed expansion of clinical services and establishment of an Occupational Health division, in our Aberdeen facility. TAC has developed close links with Charles Taylor Assistance allowing provision of 24 hr 365day/year medical support globally to our occupational health customers.
As a clinically run company our ethos of excellence in care has been maintained in all aspects of services delivered by TAC. The technological developments possible after the joining with C7 Health allow more widespread delivery of services.
