A brand-new contract has been awarded to ICTS Cyprus by DP World, for the provision of security services at the Passenger and Cargo Port Facilities of Limassol Port, the biggest port in Cyprus. This follows 2016 news that Dubai-based DP World, the biggest Port Operator in the world, managing 77 port facilities around the globe, was granted a 25-year concession for the exclusive right to operate Limassol Port’s multipurpose terminal.
ICTS Cyprus’ new contract started on 28 January 2017 and sees ICTS responsible for the delivery of security services, including access control, guarding and vehicle patrol, as well as consultancy services for the risk assessment, design and provision of CCTV, alarms and the Port’s Control Centre.
“This is a tremendous new contract for ICTS Cyprus, of which we are very proud. It follows a competitive tender process, which allowed us to illustrate our expertise in maritime security. A new terminal is currently being built at the Port for the use of cruise ship passengers, and we look forward to working with DP World in putting the security measures and procedures in place” said Panagiotis Fistedis, Regional Business Development Manager, responsible for Cyprus market.
This achievement comes in addition to another recent win for ICTS Cyprus, which has been contracted by the Cyprus Ports Authority to carry out the Security Risk Assessments and Security Plans, in accordance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, for the entire Port of Limassol.
