Spring and summer months see the introduction of seasonal flights and added operational activities across airports. In order to meet the demand for extra staff, ICTS at Shannon Airport have teamed up with Limerick Institute of Technology in Ireland. This summer ICTS will offer work placements to those studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies with Travel and Tourism Management.
Audrey Wilhite, ICTS Station Manager at Shannon Airport, said: “work placements are key elements of the degree programme and they allow for students to develop personal and social skills, to acknowledge strengths and weaknesses and to develop self‑awareness. I feel that creating good contacts with local Colleges can help develop a strong capable workforce for ICTS and also provide excellent experience for these students, which will help them in their future careers.
I have received very good feedback from our Clients on the new recruits we have for this summer, and I look forward to further developing this programme in the future.”
