ICTS Cyprus expands business in the Cruise Ship Industry

4 October 2021

ICTS Cyprus is pleased to announce that it has secured two new contracts with DP World Limassol (DPWL) and Cyprus Ports Authority (CPA), at the New Limassol Port and the Old Limassol Port respectively.

As part of the renewed contract with DPWL, ICTS Security officers are responsible for guarding the cruise ships and for security screening the cruise passengers and their baggage at the New Limassol Port Cruise Terminal, operated by DPWL. The New Limassol Port, situated along the southern coast of Cyprus is the main cruise port in Cyprus and one of the busiest in the Mediterranean.

The new contract with CPA, sees ICTS’ experienced Service Officers ensure that cruise passengers are in possession of the required Covid19 health documentation and SafePass before boarding the vessels. ICTS Officers also verify that the passengers possess the required Cyprus Flight Pass while docking at the ports. Earlier this year, the CPA awarded ICTS Cyprus the contract to provide a range of security services including access control, patrolling, guarding, and operating the CCTV at the Old Limassol Port.

The award of these new contracts positions ICTS as the preferred security partner of all state and private port operators at the two Limassol Ports.

"We have been working with DP World Limassol since 2017, providing integrated port security solutions, and since 2018, also security screening passengers and baggage at the cruise Terminal. Our cooperation with Cyprus Ports Authority dates back to 2016 when ICTS Cyprus provided CPA with International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) services. The recent expansion of cooperation with DPWL and CPA amidst the difficulties of the pandemic is a result of ICTS’ hard work and commitment and itmarks the reinforcement of our presence in the Cypriot maritime security sector," said Panagiotis Fistedis, Managing Director, SE Europe & Cyprus – ICTS Europe.
