RASCargO™
RASCargO™ is a new cargo security screening service
offered by ICTS Europe, solving the problem of trying to clear
items that cannot be x-rayed or hand-searched. The process entails
taking an air sample from the item to be screened. The sample
is then taken to the nearby analysis unit where it is quickly
tested, the result given to the customer, and if cleared for
flight, a Consignment Security Certificate issued.
The UK DfT granted its approval for use of ICTS Europe’s RASCargO™,
and the first operation of its kind was launched at Manchester
Airport in January 2004.
In 2004, the French Civil Authority granted ICTS Europe its
approval to commence use of the RASCargO™ security system
on air freight, and the first commercial operation was launched
at Paris CDG Airport. RASCargO™ offers numerous advantages,

Working closely with clients and regulators, ICTS Europe has
taken the lead in developing RASCO as a commercially available
product. Assisting the UK's DfT and government defense research
scientists, ICTS Europe was instrumental in organizing operational
trials and participated in experiments conducted over the subsequent
year.
The RASCargO™ solution is particularly suited for use in the
security screening of freight in both the aviation and maritime
industries. RASCargO™ is offered as a globally available service
to air, sea and container ports, airlines, shipping and freight
handling companies.
ICTS Europe provide everything that is required - the trained personnel
to carry out the procedure, the dogs and the equipment.
As well as offering a highly effective means of cargo screening,
RASCargO™ is a major advance in several other areas. It is economical
not least because no expensive infrastructure or equipment is
required. Thanks to its speed, a high throughput can be obtained
by a single analysis unit where a load can be cleared in minutes.
