ACTS implements Viridian at Chicago O’Hare International Airport
ACTS Aviation Security Inc., in the US, has gone live with Viridian at Chicago O’Hare International Airport on an international carrier. Following a period of development, the ICTS/ACTS teams have adapted to the use of Viridian to apply to the catering security field.
As a catering inspection technology, Viridian is expected to improve the capture and accuracy of compliance forms and record keeping, as well as to significantly increase the amount of compliance and operational data available for analysis. The system also includes checks and confirmations to ensure that every step of each process has been completed to the correct standard.
The compliance benefits of this approach are outlined below:
Less paperwork completion reduces the likelihood of errors in transcribing information, providing a more secure way of transmitting information to those with a security function to perform on the AOA (Truck Seal Verification), and streamlining operational processes and practices.
Provides confirmation and acknowledgement when key steps of the process have been completed, providing a verification of completeness.
Prompts to promote security best-practices, before Agents are able to proceed to the next security stage.
Valuable data is collected at multiple points and used to develop deeper understanding the complex operation in order to identify and correct potential compliance issues in real-time.
The plan is to roll the system out over the coming months to other stations within the ACTS network who operate for this international carrier.

February 9, 2025, following the discovery of two knives by the ICTS cabin search team during separate aircraft searches on different days in Marrakesh (RAK), the Senior Manager of United Airlines wrote: “I want to reiterate the excellent work performed by the RAK cabin search team. These items were well hidden but still found by the team.”
February 13, 2025, Area Manager, Security - Northern Europe, American Airlines; “The Newrest visit on 13th Feb in AMS to observe the AA203 catering security operation went very well. Both agents assigned (Angelique & Ricky) demonstrated both thorough and methodical searches of all items, as well as, Mo, Dion & Jan all performed very well with their oversight, coordination, focus, attention to detail and general supervision of the agents and operation. Newrest staff worked closely with our team and were responsive to any issues or challenges which occurred throughout the morning's operation until the trucks were sealed and ready to depart. Please convey my sincere gratitude and acknowledgment for a job very well done…”
February 13, 2025, Security Leads’ Team, Paris CDG, American Airlines; “On behalf of American Airlines, we would like to thank Ms. A. for her efficiency and professionalism. Her responsiveness greatly facilitated our operations. Thank you again.”
14 February, 2025, Security Leads’ Team, Paris CDG, American Airlines; “The entire American team would like to warmly thank the agents of flight AA755. Practicing your job in the current cold and wind is not easy, and even less so when it lasts for endless hours. Yesterday was a long day, with the delay and the cancellation of the flight, and we send a big thank you to F., K., M., and especially S. who accompanied us as much as possible despite the circumstances. Your dedication has not gone unnoticed, and we sincerely thank you.”
February 25, 2025, Operations Service Manager ACS AW – CDG, France
Delta Air Lines; “I personally wanted to thank the assistance of two of your agents present on DL263 today, for two different reasons:
• Agent Diana, who had excellent reflexes to quickly call the SSIAP (health and safety services) for one of our customers (departing on DL229), who felt unwell at the boarding gate, requiring her to be taken to the medical service.
• Agent Sabrina who took the time to speak to and reassure one of our flight assistance customers, a particularly elderly woman who only spoke Kabyle, with whom we had previously had great difficulty communicating.
Congratulations on their investment in our passengers, whether to ensure their safety or simply their customer experience. These efforts are noted and greatly appreciated.”
March 3, 2025, Station Manager – Ground Operations CDG, Air Mauritius (original note in French); “I wanted to thank you directly for allowing us to carry out our operations despite the delays, cancellations, and changes following the passage of Cyclone Garance. Good job.”
